Clash of Critters Fishing Contest Guide: Rods, Coins & Fish
Casting
Rods come from the Pinball Machine’s bottom mid-left slot (1 per hit at x1, scaled by multiplier) and Mall packs. Silhouettes in the water are small or big. Small fish: tap again before the timer ends. Big fish: a quick-time bar — tap when the yellow band is centred, repeatedly, within 30 seconds; each miss costs 2 seconds. The number of successful ticks decides the catch:

Silver vs gold coins
Every fish pays Silver Fishing Coins (your personal reward track) and Gold Fishing Coins (the team leaderboard, based on the fish’s size relative to the server). Casting with multiple rods multiplies silver but lowers gold per rod, so: fish single-rod when you want rank, multi-rod when you want personal rewards. Since Nov 20, 2025 silver progression is individual, rods can be upgraded with silver (each upgrade raises your luck level), and casts have a small chance to drop Felicia’s Exclusive Bait — scatter it to raise team luck for 10 minutes, stackable 4 times. The Jul 15, 2026 patch lets you see teammates’ silver totals; Jul 29 raised the threshold for “sharing” a catch.
Fish and locations
The pond roster grew through 2025–26 (Squid, Moorish Idol, Red Stingray, Dolphinfish, Piranha, Bream, Cutlassfish, Bluefin Tuna, Octopus, White Shrimp, Canned Herring, a green Carp; Mackerel dropped from Gold to Purple). The Apr 22, 2026 patch added the Rainforest area and the Aug 12, 2026 patch moved the contest to the sea with new species. The wiki’s weight tables are marked incomplete, so we do not reprint ranges.
Rewards
Placement rewards follow the Marathon-style table (1st ≈ 3k pinballs, 270k candy, 60 capsules, plus fishing trophies for the top 3; 21st–28th 225 pinballs, 54k candy, 20 capsules). Felicia — the Water Dojo master — hosts the event, and 2,000 rods is the Water T3 trial (also one option for the T4 “participate in Marathon Party or Fishing Contest” step). Ospisces and Dazopus accept 20,000 coins instead.
